Enemies will get warp surges and slowly buff themselves. Don't try to move and overwatch everything like you mostly do in X-Com. Oh, except for the plant mission where one of the pods is a cultist shaman (or w/e they are), that one is a bit annoying aswell. Removing the ranged capability of Cultists / Chaos Space Marines more or less removes them as a threat, or at least makes them very easy to manage. I almost always have a Purgator with a Psilencer in the early game, which allows it to out-range most enemies for easy dismemberment with Astral Aim. The other plant missions aren't as evil, just take it methodically and try to stay at range and pick the enemies off one by one. :) Is it the ones where you are on a 8-turn timer (essentially a bomb-mission from X-Com) or the other ones? The first one requires a different approach usually, and becomes MUCH easier once you unlock the Mass Teleport Stratagem to be able to bum-rush the plant. Love the game anyway, it's spectacularly good and fun. They're way too difficult and I feel like I'm doing most things right. The warp surge can increase the reinforcement count, but that one doesn't have any immediate effect that you have to deal with, as in it doesn't actually trigger any reinforcements when that happens. Theres research that reduces amount the warp surge meter goes up each turn, and another one where every warp surge gives all your knights +1 WP.Įach mission has a limited number of reinforcement, so if you get one that summons reinforcements that counts against the total number reinforcements that mission, so then for example on your last bloom spawn you dont have to deal with any reinforcements because the mission has run out of reinforcement. If you get the "all enemies get +5 armor for 1 turn" either retreat and wait it out OR try to go for stun + executions because those get a lot easier when the enemy has lots of armor and each execution gives your entire team +1 AP that turn. Sometimes its better to wait for the warp surge before pulling another group so you get one of the more benign ones like -1 max hp, or at least you know what you are dealing with before you start the next fight
